How will adopting the growth mindset change the way you learn?
Adopting the growth mindset change the way I learn by changing the perspective of my intelligence and my abilities. Learning a growth mindset transforms the meaning of effort and difficulty to an opportunity to get smarter. The word “yet” helps us to trust the process to success, “not yet” gives us the opportunity to challenge our abilities by working harder next time. As an educator I can teach a growth mindset to my students by praise and rewarding the process of their learning, rather than praising their intelligence. This will create ownership of their learning, by accepting challenges as an opportunity of growth. In TED Talks video by Carol Dweck presented data of those students who thought they could change their own intelligence increased their grades over time, while those with a fixed mindset did not. A grown mindset is beneficial and supported by Science. Results shows that by thinking we are in charge of developing our own abilities by working hard, transforms the mentally that we are either smart or dumb. So we can all fulfill our potential we must listen to our fixed mindset voice and change it to a growth mindset. Check out My Implementation Plan blog page, this is where I apply the growth mindset “not yet” because my innovation plan will take time. I’m not there yet, but I will!
